Mental health does not exist separately from relationships, family, community, culture, identity, spirituality, history or the systems we move through.
For Indigenous clients, psychotherapy at SOUL+WARRIOR offers space to bring these parts of your experience into therapy when they matter to you, without assuming what being Indigenous means to you or what your therapy should look like.

You may be seeking support for anxiety, trauma, relationships, grief, emotional regulation, burnout, family concerns, identity, major life changes or something that is simply becoming difficult to carry on your own.
Culture and spirituality can be part of the conversation. They do not have to be. You decide what is meaningful and relevant to your care.
SOUL+WARRIOR is a Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) mental-health counselling provider, allowing eligible FNMI clients to access covered psychotherapy services. Virtual psychotherapy is available across Ontario.
You should not have to separate your mental health from the cultural, relational, historical, spiritual and systemic contexts of your life when those contexts matter to you.
The approach is relational, collaborative and grounded in both evidence-based psychotherapy and an understanding that Western clinical models are only one way of understanding wellness. Therapy may draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, attachment-informed, trauma-informed and somatic approaches while remaining responsive to each person's values, relationships, culture and ways of understanding their experience.
Cultural knowledge and Indigenous ways of knowing are approached with respect and humility, not claimed as Melissa's own. Where culture, ceremony, traditional healing, Elders, Knowledge Keepers or community supports are important to you, therapy can make room for those relationships rather than positioning psychotherapy as a replacement for them.
Therapy may support concerns including anxiety, trauma and difficult life experiences, relationships and attachment, grief and loss, emotional regulation, identity and belonging, boundaries, depression, major life transitions and the effects of chronic stress.
You can come with a diagnosis, without one, or simply knowing that something in your life needs attention.
